LIP TATTOO - The Korean Way

July 4, 2016

Ever since Kylie Jenner started the whole the-fuller-the-better trend on lips, people have been searching for the single product or procedure that will help them achieve that same plumped-up look. So how about a lipstick tattoo that can last for 12 hours; without the pain!

When it comes to lip tattoos, we’re no longer talking about the semi-permanent procedure that gives you tinted lips for six months. Instead, these new lip tattoos are peel-off lip tints that claim to stay on all day without any transfer. What’s more, they serve not just as lip tints, but also as a lip mask, conditioning and exfoliating your lips at the same time. Brilliant hey

So how does it work?

Be prepared to struggle with the product the first time around. This is quite a revolutionary product, so it takes a little bit of time to get used to it. Don’t despair if they don’t look exactly how you want it at first. You will get accustomed to it in no time. Also, this product is perfect for a gradient lip.

STEP 1
First, cover clean lips in a thick layer of the lip tattoo. A good gauge is a pearl-sized amount. This will make it easier to peel off in the later steps. Clean off any excess around the lip line with a cotton bud.

STEP 2
Wait for 10-15 minutes for the product to dry. The texture is very thick and gooey. You may want to leave your lips slightly parted if you have applied the lip tattoo on the inner portion of your lips. The more you apply the longer it takes to dry. Check if they’re dry by lightly tapping on the surface.

STEP 3
After it is completely dry, peel off the pack. It does not hurt when you peel it off. You can gently do this by “loosening” a small edge at the side of your lip, rather than pulling and tugging at your lips.

As you peel it leaves behind a staining effect on lips that last up to 12 hours. You can lick your lips, drink coffee and eat and the colour will stay on.

If you have cracked or flaky lips it is good to exfoliate your lips before applying the colour.

I'd also suggest using a little bit of lip balm after peeling the tint off, just to give your pout some TLC.

It is a really fun product and you're  getting a gorgeous lip color that does not move and kind of looks natural.

Have fun!!!
